A welcoming studio in Ashburn, Virginia — in-person and virtual.

All ages, all levels

From beginners just rosining their first bow to advanced students preparing audition repertoire — every student welcome.

Three lesson lengths

Weekly 30, 45, or 60-minute formats. Lesson length is matched to the student's age and goals.

In-person & virtual

In-person lessons in Lauren's Ashburn home studio, with virtual options for students outside the area.

Strong fundamentals

Posture, tone, and technique built deliberately through scales, etudes, and a thoughtful repertoire path.

Goals that fit you

Performance prep, audition prep, or simply joyful playing — goals are tailored to each student.

Studio recitals

Annual studio recitals give every student a chance to share their progress in a warm, supportive setting.

Weekly Lessons

Choose a length that fits the student.

Younger students often start with 30-minute lessons. As repertoire grows, most students move to 45 or 60 minutes to allow time for scales, etudes, and longer pieces.

30

Minutes / week

A focused weekly lesson, ideal for beginners and younger students.

45

Minutes / week

More room for scales, etudes, and longer repertoire — the most common length.

60

Minutes / week

For advanced students preparing auditions, concerti, or recital programs.

Beyond the lesson

Additional opportunities for studio students.

Students who wish to stretch beyond weekly lessons have a number of ways to grow — both through Lauren's studio and through the wider Northern Virginia music community.

  • Solo & Ensemble festivals
  • Concerto & honors competitions
  • Youth orchestra auditions (LSYO and others)
